I have been a regular blood donor since the early 1970s. I started when I was at university. I have well over 111 donations recorded - there was more not recorded from the early years. I can only donate twice a year due to my physician's advice pertaining to my iron stores and make sure I book my regular appointment.
I know so many people, past and present, that have needed blood that this is a very easy decision. It is minimal effort and minimal time that provides a life saving product. The blood clinic staff and volunteers are always so efficient and welcoming that it's a pleasure.
