Growing up I had always wanted to help people and donate blood. After I turned 17 I made my first appointment and on the day of my planned donation, my cousin died in a tragic accident. I still went to donate that day, and I still do every chance I get. In June 2020 I will donate for my 20th time and I turned 26 this year.
Each donation is a reminder for me that this blood is important and needed. Not everyone will survive their tragedies or illnesses, but so many will. And they need our help. Why not give blood? If you’ve never donated before, what’s stopping you from trying?
