My step father was diagnosed with Lymphoma in 2016 and had needed many bags of blood from the donation bank... he then finally beat it via a stem cell transplant of his own donation. This is when I began donating blood and urging others to as well.
Sadly, the stem cells began to die and he had to begin chemotherapy once again and blood transfusions to help his platelets to rise. We had hope of a stem cell transplant from one of 3 perfect matches.. but February 27th 2021, he passed due to complications. This is why I continue to donate and have registered to donate stem cells & anything else I can.
