Paying it forward

I started donating whole blood 12 years ago. It had occurred to me that it was a way of paying it forward as I am blessed with exceptionally good health.

Then we were hit with a terrible diagnosis. Four years ago my husband had a life saving double lung transplant. He was in hospital for over 6 months, in and out of the ICU. Numerous transfusions aided in saving his life.

I switched to being a Plasma donor because I can donate every week now. I have just made my 63rd donation. I am a grandmother of 7. If you are healthy age is not a barrier.
