Congenital dyserythropoietic anemia type 2

Having been born with a very rare type of anemia called congenital dyserythropoietic anemia type 2, I have required blood transfusions. I am O- and I find it ironic that my blood type is a universal donor but yet I am the one that requires it. I've lived my whole life being chronically anemic. I had my spleen removed at 16 years of age in hopes of helping with blood disorder, unfortunately as I've gotten older my anemia is getting worse. I really cannot thank blood donors enough. I would not be here breathing and living today if it were not for them. I thank blood donors every chance I get! Not just for saving my life but other lives as well!
